J. Hunter Eddins

I come from a tobacco growing family in Zebulon, North Carolina. My father and grandfathers were all tobacco farmers in Eastern, North Carolina. I decided to stay near home and attended Meredith College where I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Politics and Pre-Law with minors in history and communication. While at Meredith, I served as a summer intern for Democratic Congressman David Price in Washington,. D.C. I also worked for Democratic Congressman Bob Etheridge’s reelection campaigns in 2000 and 2002.

I knew early on that I wanted to be a lawyer . I have always been a great arguer. My parents would second that. After graduating from Meredith College in 2003, I went on to law school at Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.

While at Campbell, I was a member of Women In Law and Campbell Law Democrats. I also served as President of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and as co-chair of the Moot Court Board and student ambassadors. In my third year of law school, I was selected as a member of the Lone Star Classic Trial Team and National Trial team which allowed me to practice trying cases in front of real judges. I graduated from Campbell Law School in 2006 and was inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honor society for trial room lawyers and the Susie Sharp Inn of Court. In addition, I served as in Intern in the North Carolina Supreme Court for Justice George Wainwright in 2006.

After law school I began working at a large insurance defense firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. I practiced solely in workers’ compensation. I enjoyed the trial work and legal analysis but felt that something was missing. I believe I have found my home here at James Scott Farrin. I can now use my passion for trial work in order to help others. My father has always said “never forget where you came from because it will help determine where you go”. I believe my small town background and wonderful legal and trial education make me the lawyer I am today. I look forward to assisting you in your workers’ compensation claim.
