Jennifer Shapiro
Ms. Shapiro has always known she wanted to be a lawyer. From the time she was a small child, everything about the law has fascinated her. Perhaps it is genetic. While she was growing up in North Carolina, she was constantly reminded that there have been attorneys in her family for many generations. More importantly, Ms. Shapiro was also reminded of the positive impact they had on their communities through the years. It has always been her goal to have that same positive impact wherever she lived and worked.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Shapiro started her own law practice and found success representing individuals in criminal and personal injury matters. However, as time passed, she found that she wanted to be part of a larger legal community and joined a law firm that focused on family law. Despite the difficult nature of family law cases, Ms. Shapiro enjoyed helping people during the darkest days of their lives and bringing closure to those times.
As her career advanced, Ms. Shapiro had an opportunity to work in a field that had always interested her: workers’ compensation. For over five years, Ms. Shapiro represented employers in a wide variety of workers’ compensation cases. Although she gained tremendous experience during her time in insurance defense, she always felt in the back of her mind that she would rather be helping injured workers instead of the insurance companies she represented.
When Ms. Shapiro arrived at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2006, she found the perfect opportunity to work in a wonderful community of attorneys and staff who are dedicated to helping individuals with many different types of injuries. Through her work as one of the attorneys at the firm that make first contact with our clients, Ms. Shapiro is able to accomplish every day what she dreamed about doing as a child; helping people and having a positive impact on the lives of our clients and our community.
